I am the new Dave Gilmore for the Peacefest Pink Floyd tribute band. I am like Dave in every way except that I am a lady, and not actually that good at guitar and have never played lead guitar in public – ever.

Debugging someone else’s code – that’s how.

The main issue is that the developer in question built the banner components (for it is a banner) in CS5 – no problems embedding fonts with special characters – Adobe extended the way the add font to library works.

But these banners have to be delivered in CS4 format – markets that are taking the banners are not yet on CS5 – hell i don’t even have it at work.

So now i am trying to figure out a way to get these special characters into the font library without going insane in the process. I can’t rewrite the banner (it is a nano site so a rewrite – even of just a small component would take a fair old chunk of time) and I am having to try to get inside the mind of a mad man (who the fuck uses Pure MVC on a banner????? OVERKILL!!! A well written (and preferably slightly documented) MVC would have worked fine (growl growl rant rant)).

I remember when i used to be cool. I used to have my own clubnight FFS. Now i lie in bed with my laptop resting on the bump of the next moogsterJR and read about font embedding.
